B Litter Herding Ducks at Ewe-topia
October 23, 2004 was the day the B litter went to their new homes and the 4th Annual Northwest Leonberger Club Herding Day. So we brought all the puppies to Ewe-topia to meet thier new families and to herd ducks before they left. The pups did great, Bran proved to be a great herding dog with lots of instinct for a puppy. Belenus was enthusiastic and also showed great instinct. Bryg showed some interest and had a bit of fun chasing the ducks but found many other things to do in the pen too. Belisama was not so sure about ducks and went to the fence and visited with the dogs and people watching. All and all I was quite proud of my babies. It takes a lot of energy and thought to pay attention and herd ducks at this young of an age, but once again the Tir na nOg puppies proved Leonbergers have herding instinct!
